      Military registration card September 12,1918 he was 33 years old living in Torrington, Goshen county,Wyoming, farmer self employed, native born Jan 15 1885 Height medium, build slender, brown eyes and dark hair.
      Fred worked at the Hasting Hide Co. Worked for the government in Lyman, Nebrasks for GWS Co (Great Western Sugar I believe) in contruction of the sugar mills. In a coal pit in May 1926 . This info is from his cousing Fairy Lucas Ramos.
      The Poore and Lucas Homesteads were in Hawk Springs Wy 20 miles south of Torrington Wy. On April 2005 located on farm of JR Buckhault. It is off rode 47.(very nice family showed as around) very windy and cattle grazing on not very good soil. Grandpa Wilburn Lucas and Albina's brother Roy had homestead next door and across the road. Stories of Harold getting into mischief, climbing on the windmill in Neb.. Knocking over a hay stack and yelling"Are you dead Morrie are you dead".
      Grandpa Poore1928moved from Neb. to Washinton- lived in Centralia Wa. and sold sewing machines ran the Singer Sewing Machine store and Grandma gave sewing lessons. He built a rack on the back of his car so he could deliver the sewing machines. They lived in Hoquiam, Olypia and Longview Washington. 1930 census has them living in Centrailia , Lewis Wa. Maurice working in lumber mill and others kis in school. They rented a house.
      Listed in the rosedale NO. 2 precinct for voting were: Mrs. Albina L; housewife Rt 4 box 70 Chico Dem. Miss Dorothy B; factory address same Rep. Fred D; Janitor address Dem. Maurice H; Salesman same address and Robert M; bookkeeper same address Dem. for 193201938.
      The family moved to Chico in March1932 where they bought land and built the 2 story Rose Ave house on Chico Creek. The story is "there was no railing around the stairwell, early on and one night Howard walked in his sleep and fell down the stairs. 6 weeks after moving to Chico where Fred and son Morrie worked for Diamond Match Co and where Fred lost his finger tip. Harold, Bob and Howardall served in the military during WWII. Fred had a registration card for WWII " lived Rose Ave & Chico Creek Drive, Chico Ca. mailing address Rt 4 Box 70 Chico, age 57, employer's name Board of Education, Chico, Place of Employment, Chico High School, Esplandade, Chico Ca. height 5'8 1/2" weight 158 eyes brown, hair black/gray, complexion dark. April 25 1942. Fred worked as a custodian also a Oakdale elementry school, where he got an oak children's reading table which Gayle still has.
      Fred did not allow alcohol in their home.
      They moved to Palm Ave. in 1944 Chico when the boys had left home. Dorothy and Helen lived at home until each married.
      Served as a deacon of the First Christian Church in Chico for many years, taught Sunday School as well.
      Fred and Albina were married for almost 60 years. they had a lovely 50th Anniversary Party at the home of their daughter Dorothy and her husband Walt Ihle. Have a copy of the family phot that was taken at the party. Also have photos of the two of them during their life.
      After Albina's death he married Mary Mann a long time friend and widow from the Christian Church in Reno Nev.
      Loved to sing and he would sing "We Were Rolling Along on Moonlight Bay" whenever they got in the car to go someplace. Fred & Albina raised the most beautiful Dahlias, some as big as dinner plates. they propagated many new varities/colors.
